Favorite Drugstore Makeup :))

If you are a makeup enthusiast like Michelle and I, you know that it can get pretty expensive to maintain a decent makeup collection. Stores like Sephora and Mac offer (most of the time) an amazing array of high quality products, of course with amazing quality you always have to pay an amazing quantity...right? Not exactly, there IS some products that you can get at the drugstore that are every bit as good as high end products and sometimes even better, it's all about research and finding what is best suitable for you. Below you will find a list of products that Michelle and I put together..just for YOU!! :) Keeep in mind that these are our non-expert opinions, and that while these products work great for us, they may not be suitable for everybody, depending on skin shades, skin types and sometimes even taste. Enjoy ;)

Angie's Take:

Rimmel Lasting Finish Foundation

Shade: Ivory (100)
Price: around $8
I think i have gone through 3 of these, my skin loves this stuff..and naturally i do too. It always gives me a flawless airbrushed effect when i apply it with a stippling brush or a wet sponge. It says it lasts 25 hours..i wouldn't know about that..i haven't stayed up for 25 hours straight to test it out haha. However it does stay on until i take it off at night with a makeup remover, especially when i use a good primer. I do have to complain about a couple of things, the shade selection is just straight up awful, i think they just have about 11 shades to choose from and lets face it...there is more than 11 shades of skin color out there :P I lucked out and mine matches pretty close to my skin, it's the lightest shade so anyone lighter than me, you are out of luck my friend. Also, you have to learn to work with this foundation, it's pretty thick so blending can be a bit tricky but if you learn to work with it, it will look great!

Hard Candy Fox in a Box Blush

Shade: Spicy and Sweet
price: $6
I love this blush! I have trouble finding a blush I love from the drugstore, but this is just great product. It gives a beautiful pink glow to your cheeks and it's not over the top with color. Just swirl your brush into the four colors lightly and you are good to go! The packaging looks like it wants to copy some of the benefit blushes, but it is really cute :) I dont think i have any complains with this one except that it is not a long lasting blush so you will probably need to reapply..but for 6 dollars it's not a big deal.

Hard Candy Sheer Envy Skin Perfecting Primer

Price: $8
This is a great primer, especially for those that can't affor the high end primers but are still looking for quality. There is actually two primers from Hard Candy, but i tried this one because it said it fills in your pores and makes your skin look great. My pores are a big concern of mine since they are pretty big around my nose and cheeks. It did fill in my pores slightly, not a huge difference but a difference nonetheless and it made my foundation application super easy, also whenever i use this my foundation stays intact all day while at work. I would not recomend this if you have oily skin, as it does have a  very oily feeling to it.

Maybelline's The Colossal Mascara

Price: Around $9
This is my favorite mascara of all time...of all time!! <--- that was just my attempt at a Kanye West at the VMA's impression. Anyway, as i was saying i really am impressed with the quality of this mascara, it gives my lashes an amazing volume and it even lenghtens them! I know some people complain about this mascara, but it just goes to show you that mascara is just one of those things that is going to vary by consumer. It really does depend on how your lashes already are. This also has a smell that I'm not very fond of..but i will let it pass because other than that, it works amazing with my lashes :)

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick

Shade: Siren
Price: Around $9
I got really into the orange lipstick hype, and i gotta say, orange lipstick looks pretty darn good on me, i think so anyways haha. My true intentions were to buy the orange lipstick from mac Morange, my sister was going to buy it for me (along with other mac products) for my birthday, but we experienced some technical difficulties and the purchase could not be made. So i went to target and i picked this up. It looks awesome, really great color for spring and summer. I love the texture too, it's really creamy! This is definitely not an every day lip color, but it is something to consider when you are feeling adventourous.

E.L.F. Essentials Lipstick

Shade: Seductive
Price: $1..yeah..ONE dollar!!
I absolutely love Elf products, most of their products are a really good quality for an amazing price and this lipstick is not the exception. It is a really nice berry shade, it's not really dramatic, so depending on your skin type you could probably pull it off for an everyday look. It is a great alternative to a red lipstick, as it is more subtle yet still classy. It smells amazing, i really don't have any complaints :)

E.L.F. Studio Line Contouring Blush and Bronzing Powder

Price: $3
Another great Elf product, the blush is a light pink shade with a little bit of coral in it, it looks really great on my pale skin. I also really like the bronzer, it's great for countouring and it's not difficult to blend, not as easy as higher end bronzer, but still not challenging. It comes with a pretty big mirror in the compact, i was impressed by that since i always like to carry a mirror in my purse.

Wet n WIld Color Icon Palette

Shade: Comfort Zone
Price: $5
I could probably go on and on about how amazing these eyeshadows are. You get 8 great shades for just 5 dollars, what a great deal! They are super pigmented, and blend really easy. This palette is really nice for everyday looks and even for evening events, all the colors in the palette are neutral but it has some amazing shades with a lot of dimention. I also like that it gives you an idea of where to put the colors on your eyes, so if you are just starting out with makeup, its a really great tool. Wet n Wild used to be a brand that i would avoid at the drugstore, but lately they have been improving their products and I'm excited for what is to come :)

Michelles Take:

1.      L’Oreal Voluminous Mascara in Carbon Black

a.       Yes it looks like any other black mascara out there, but it’s by far the best I’ve tried. It gives the lashes amazing volume without clumping or having to apply ten coats of it. It holds a curl pretty well too, but it’s not the best for lengthening that’s why sometimes I like to add a few coats of the L’Oreal Voluminous Million Lashes mascara to add length, and voila you’re ready to bat those eyelashes ;)

1.      Maybelline Eye Studio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner

a.       Eyeliner has always been a must in my make up collection, it was the very first make up product I ever used so it’s been a faithful companion. The eyeliner itself however has changed throughout the years, from eyeliner pencil, to liquid eyeliner, and now gel eyeliner. Using a gel liner gives you the best control over its placement, after a bit of practice of course. The maybelline gel liner is not only inexpensive but perfect for those new to gel liners. It’s nicely pigmented, very creamy, and lasts all day especially over a good primer. If however you find it smearing hear and there, set it with an eye shadow and you’re good to go!

We hope this helped! Happy Friday :)
