My High End Lipstick Collection :)

Angie says :
Chances are if you know me really well, you know that I am completely in love with lipsticks. I love the texture of lipsticks, the sophisticated finish that they give the face and the endless range of colors that they offer. Today i want to share with you my high end lipstick collection, what I mean with "high end" is my lipsticks that cost $12 or more and just so you know, I am completely on love with all of these shades, I do adore some more than others, but all in all I am really happy with all of these little tubes of joy.

so here they are!
Top Row and from left to right: Flirt's Lipstick in "poppy", Flirt's Lipstick in "wicked" and Mary Kay's Lipstick in "frosted rose"

Poppy: $12 available at kohls and kohls.com only.
Poppy is a really nice frosted pink kind of shade, it looks like something barbie would wear, i enjoy this shade a lot, especially when I am a little tan, it brightens up my face really beautifully!

Wicked:$12 available at kohls and kohls.com only.
This is by far, the prettiest red i have ever found, its very much warm toned, it is more towards orange than any other undertone and it looks magnificent with my skin. However i do have to wear a very toned down eye with this one, as it always wants to steal the show!

Frosted Rose: $13 available at marykay.com
This is a really special shade, it is definitely neutral, so it is very wearable. It looks like a nice dark berry shade on my lips and it goes with almost anything I put on my eyes, I do feel like i always have to wear bronzer with this one, as it makes me look kinda pale....maybe..cus I AM pale?:P

Bottom Row and from left to right, these are all MAC lipsticks. Shades are:  Vegas Volt, Viva Glam Gaga 2, Cremecup, Impassioned and Costa Chic.

Vegas Volt: $14.50 available at MAC counters and maccosmetics.com
I dont even know where to start with this lippie, it is definitely one of my favorites of my entire collection, it is a really nice pink corally shade. Before I saw this color I had never come accross such a unique shade. You know what it reminds me of? Mary Poppins..lol thats right, it reminds me of the makeup that Mary Poppins and the Mom in the movie used to wear, this lipstick is a tad bit more pink though, it is definitely not identical.

Viva Glam Gaga 2: $14.50 available at MAC counters and maccosmetics.com
ok, first of all, my camera is being pretty cruel with all of these beautiful colors, not very true at all. Most of these look so much better in person, but this one, this one my camera was really really cruel to. It almost looks yellow and it is not yellow at all. In fact, it is a very nice nude shade, it is more on the brown side than most nudes i have come accross with. I really love this lipstick because it is soooo versatile, pair it with ANY lipliner and you can completely transform it! This is def. another fave!

Cremecup: $14.50 available at MAC counters and maccosmetics.com
This is another nude, but this is a pink nude, to me it is the kind of lippie you would wear if you were wearing a really smokey eye, and it does look faboulous with a nice dark eye! It's kinda sheer, so you have to be a but generous with it if you want a nice color payoff, but all in all, i really enjoy it.

Impassioned: $14.50 available at MAC counters and maccosmetics.com
"oh dear" that's what I said when I saw this color in person..it is definitely not for the weak of heart, its bold and it is pink. HOT HOT HOT pink..did i mention it was hot pink? so far i have only worn it out about three times, when I feel adventourous :) but when i do i get sooo many compliments. This one also makes me look more pale than i am, so i either have to be tan, or put on some bronzer to pull this off, but it is totally worth it.

Costa Chic: $14.50 available at MAC counters and maccosmetics.com
This one is really similar to poppy (if you can't tell..i like pink toned lipsticks lol) but this has a bit of coral to it, not a lot but just enough :)i like wearing this one with a nice neutral eye and nice black winged eyeliner on the top of my lids. It looks really sophisticated and classy that way.

well thats it! Thats my high end lipstick collection...i might do a drugstore lipstick collection soon..maybe :)

Hope you enjoyed me blabbing!
Happy Friday.

Haul time! Ulta and Target :)

Angie says:

Yaaaaay its friday!!! I'm so happy it's finally friday..I had a looooooong week.   We just wanted to show you a couple of things that we picked up at Target and Ulta and no..we didn't plan the fact that we both got something from Ulta and Target, we are just both cool like that :)

So from Ulta i got the Urban Decay Naked Palette...FINALLY, I have been wanting to get this since probably November of last year and I finally caught it in stock! I figured since I have been a good girl working and not spending money that I deserved it :) So I got it and it is fabulous, I cannot wait to start using those awesome eyeshadows, all the colors are super wearable and neutral so im definitely going to wear them to work! Also from Ulta I got the NYX lipstick in Rose Bud, I have always wanted to try their lipsticks, and since i only needed a couple dollars for free shipping, I figured I should add it to my bag. From Target i got  the Sonia Kashuk Hidden Agenda Concealer Palette in 07, I got this because i actually don't own a very good under eye concealer, and i have heard a lot of people say how good this product is, so i decided to give it a try. Next I got two things from no.7, I got a cheek tint in the shade peach silk and I got their Extravagant Lashes Mascara in the shade Brown/Black , I need to discuss the mascara later on..because..well..it's special, lets just leave it at that. Lastly, i got a bronzer from NYC, because I am super pale and i need something to make me look alive this summer and not like i belong in the Adams family :) Well that is it..that is all I got, hope you all have a wonderful weekend!!

Michelle Says:

So my haul is more of a mini-haul haha basically a few necessities and perhaps a self gift or two ;) Let me get through the basics first from Ulta. I got a bottle of Skintimate Skin Therapy Moisturizing Saving Gel which is a must with the scattered warm days we’ve been having here in the LA area, and you can’t wear shorts without nicely shaved legs right?! Next I got a bottle of Not Your Mother’s Beach Babe Texturing Sea Salt Spray for some sexy beachy waves. Lastly I needed a new hair straighter since a certain someone broke the one I had (ughh!), so I got the Remington T-Studio Pearl Ceramic Sleek & Curl Straightener. It’s nothing fancy but I’m sure it’ll fit its purpose, besides I very rarely straighten my hair, if anything I only use a straightener for my bangs =)

So those were all the things I needed but if you’re like me you know that it’s impossible to go into a beauty store and not get yourself a little treat, hence my Turquoise & Caicos Essie polish. I really hate that I got this AFTER posting my summer/spring polish favorites because this polish has quickly climbed to the top of my list! Turquoise, aqua, and all those sea blue-green kind of colors and my favorite colors so I just couldn’t resist when I saw this polish, and of course I tried it on as soon as I got home.

Another thing I grabbed on a whim was the Real Techniques Travel Essentials brush set by Samantha Chapman. Sam is a make up artist and has a beauty channel that she shares with her sister Nic on Youtube for those who don’t already know, and I think she is simply fantastic! Her tutorials are always so nicely polished and you can just tell she knows what she’s talking about so when I found out she had her own line of brushes I had to check them out! I also wanted to get her eye shadow brush set but they were out of stock. From what I’ve heard they’ve been going off the racks quite rapidly so I’m hoping I can get my hands on them soon. Last of all I too got a Sonia Kashuk Hidden Agenda Concealer Palette in number 07 from Target.

The concealers in this palette have been compared to some of the Laura Mercier concealers so I guess I’ll have to be the judge of that ;) haha

Hope you all have a fabulous day!

ColorStay...or should you go?

Angie says:
Hello all! Hope you are having a happy friday!
I wanted to do a review of the ColorStay foundation by Revlon. I think I have had mine for about three weeks now and after testing it everyday, i feel i can give an honest and accurate opinion :). I am sure that if you google this foundation you will find sooooo many reviews on the product, which is why i kinda hesitated about making this review. However after giving it some thought i decided i would put my two cents in and tell you what I think. :) Lets start with the basics, price. This is one thing i don't like about the ColorStay, since it is a drugstore product, i was expecting it to be less than $10, which is not the case, i got mine for $13.99 at Walgreens. Now that i got that out of the way, I am going to tell you a more detailed description of this product. This is definitely a matte foundation, no shimmer, shine or dewyness anywhere, so if you like a more dewy finish, this is not for you. There is two kinds of formulas with this foundation, one is for dry skin and the other one is more oily/combination skin. I have combination skin, so i chose the one that would suit my skin best. When i first got this product i had a huge problem with the aplication, i had heard that this product was very comparable to the Studio Fix Fluid foundation by MAC (which i also own) and i found the aplication to be much more difficult than with MAC. ColorStay just dries so quickly! It was very hard to blend at first and sometimes i would end up using so much product because the one drop that i would put on my face to later spread all over would dry in seconds, literally. Tried to make my peace with it by applying with a stippling brush..FAIL. My last attempt (of course..) at blending this properly into my skin was with a damp make up sponge and this was truly the answer to my make up prayers. It left my skin with a flawless finish and i do mean FLAWLESS. Now, is it comparable to the MAC Studio Fix Fluid? Yes, very much so, except that the ColorStay did not make me break out like the MAC foundation did. The finish you get with both is really flawless and both of these products have amazing coverage! I was also very impressed with the durability of this foundation (ColorStay) because for whatever reason, one day i forgot to set my foundation with powder and after an 8 hour workday, my make up was still intact and my skin still looked flawless.
I really enjoy this product very much, after discovering how great it looks on my skin i don't even mind paying a little more than i usually pay for drugstore foundation. This is a great product, if you want the quality of high end foundation but with a price that is a bit more friendly, then i say give it a try!

PS. I tried to upload pictures to this post..but for some reason it did not work :( sad day!

Spring and Summer Nails =)

I don’t know about you but when I think of Spring or Summer I think COLOR! After all the black, gray, navy, and all those other winter colors it’s invigorating to bring out the color back into your wardrobe and spicing up your looks. But it doesn’t end there, what’s even better than bringing color to your wardrobe? Bringing color to your nails!!!  Here are a few of my favorites at the moment. Hopefully they help kindle a spring/summer vibe in you ;)

Michelle:

*From left to Right*

  1. Charged Up Cherry by OPI-This beautiful bright pink polish is absolutely GORGEOUS! It’s quite feminine and simply screams summer
  2. A Grape Fit! by OPI- This isn’t a bright polish per say, more of a pastel, by nonetheless colorful and flattering. This was actually a gift, and definitely not a color I would have purchased on my own but every time I wear it, I’m guaranteed to receive a compliment =)
  3. Purple Rain by Color Me- Unfortunately I bought this at a local nail salon, Happy Nails (best nail salon EVER) so it probably won’t be easy to find but it’s just a deeper purple with a shiny finish, you don’t even need to apply a topcoat really. I’ve been wearing this color on my toes for like the past two weeks and I catch myself staring down at my toes constantly!
  4. Vicious by Color Me- Again this was from a Happy Nails salon but it’s just an ordinary bright red (comparable to Stunning Scarlet by Sally Hanson). Red nails are a classic, whether it’s summer, winter, fall, you name it you can’t go wrong with a red polish. It’s quite sexy as well.
  5. Note to Self by OPI for Sephora- I bought this polish last summer and I probably wore it every day! Now that summer is right around the corner again I’ve brought it back out and have fallen in love all over again
  6. Need Sunglasses? by OPI- You can’t get much brighter than this haha but I think that’s why I got this polish. It’s definitely the brightest in my collection and I can’t really say much about it rather than it looks great on those poolside or beach days.
  7. Coney Island Cotton Candy by OPI- When you’re in need of a break from all the color or just want something different a nude like this one is absolutely perfect! As with the red, you can’t go wrong with a nude polish. These differ amongst everyone though so keep that in mind! Even though this might be the perfect nude for me (I have a tan-ish skin tone) you might need something a little lighter, a little darker, the choice is yours ;)

Happy Mother's Day to all you mom's and to the daughters/sons hope you have a wonderful weekend celebrating in honor of your mom's =)
